Data retention
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Temporary means temporary. This is exactly how long data lives:
| Data | Default retention |
|---|---|
| Consumer inbox | 24 hours; extendable to at most 7 days |
| Consumer messages | Until inbox expiration or manual deletion, whichever comes first |
| Attachments | Same as their message |
| Raw security logs (incl. IP) | At most 7 days, access-restricted |
| Aggregated, content-free usage counters | 90 days |
| Abuse case records | As long as the case requires |
A cleanup job runs every 15 minutes and permanently deletes expired inboxes and all their content. Deleted content cannot be recovered — by us or anyone else.
